Van Damme is mainly remembered for his time spent as a professional footballer, where he starred in such movies as Kickboxer and Blood sport. Van Damme also played for clubs in France, Italy, and the United States. He is perhaps best known for his roles in the action films Kickboxer (1989), Bloodsport (1988), and Lionheart (1990).
