Rajiv Gandhi Death Case Updates
The case is once again pulling the attention of social media and the netizens are looking to know more information about this case. As we all know former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi was killed by a suicide bombing in Sriperumbudur which is in Tamil Nadu. He lost his life on 21st May 1991. Now the case is once again in the limelight after the supreme court released a person who is involved in this case. As per the latest media reports, the Supreme Court on Wednesday, 18th May 2022 ordered the bailout of A G Perarivalan who is considered one of the life convicts in the case of Rajiv Gandhi’s murder.
Who Killed Rajiv Gandhi?
The accused, Perarivalan was just 19 years old at the time of the murder of Rajiv Gandhi in the year 1991. He was blamed for purchasing the 2 9-volt batteries which were used in the bomb to kill the ex-Indian Prime Minister. Perarivalan was convicted to demise by a TADA court in the year 1998. The Supreme Court sustained the conviction the next year but go back and forth it to life the jail in the year 2014. The high court had released him on the bail in the month of March 2022.
Who Is The Suspect?
The judgment of the Supreme Court will create a way for the bail of the other 6 perpetrators of this case which include Nalini Sriharan and her spouse named Murugan who holds the Sri Lankan nationality. On the 21st May 1991: The ex-prime minister Rajiv Gandhi is killed at Sriperumbudur at around 10:20 PM. The lady assassin named Dhanu triggers a belt bomb and assassinates Gandhi and 16 other people.
